this is a guest maya tutorial on cgwhat by Kurt- Kurt is a relly relly good 3d modeler honestly i think without his video tutorials i would not be making my own tutorial i asked Kurt to do this Tutorial threw a friend and he agreed and overall this maya tutorial is one of the most popular video tutorials on cgwhat last time i checked it was aroud 14,000 people had seen the tutorial this tutorial is made so that anybody can make it if you are new to maya you probably can follow along and make this Zombie Bunny or if you know how to use maya and just want to creat a cool 3d character this is also for you, anywho check out the maya tutorial at cgwhat hope you guys like it

Maya Tutorial Pod Racer

in this maya tutorial we make a Pod Racer when i watched star wars i this was only pod racer that i liked so i figured i should make it. When i first started this i needed to gather some reference images for the maya tutorial after i got some basic images for the model i started to make it this tutorial wasn’t a organic model this was more of a hard serfice model so i had to take my time i could not just move vertx randomly so there was some planning but for the most part i just made it as i went then Maya crashed in this tutorial maya had crashed i honestly have lost track. I hate when it crashes but it dose one thing it you lear to do is to save your work aniways overall this maya tutorial is relly good check it out at www.cgwhat.com

This Tutorial is Sooo funny
first i must say i have watched this maya tutorial at least 5 times the first Video is Hilarius i decided to do this tutorial after watching tv and yet again the Gecko you see on tv like 5 or 10 times a day came one again with his witty remarks save $ by switching to blah blah blah

when i first started this tutorial i did not find that many images of the gecko so i just foud a front and told my self well you have to model it using just the front no big deal
First the model started to look like a Snake lol but after a while it started to look like like the gecko after i finished the modeling part i dident want to stop so i decided that i woudl show basic usage of UVLayout V2 pro this app is amazing it save me hours of work it’s crazy how good this app is you bring in your .obj file you cut your model like if you were flattening a peace of paper and booom all done then you can take it to Photoshop and make the textuer that you want relly relly simple to use

the only regret that i have on this tutorial is i left him in a T stance he looks like an airplane but overall this maya tutorial was really useful for a lot of people

Maya Tutorial

The Good old Buzz Lightyer Tutorial well i have to say this is one of my bestmaya tutorials i have done i really like how this one ended up the whole concept came that i wanted to model something from every pixar movie, starting with Toy Story to the most current Pixar move well that will be Toy Story 3 but anywho i fould some amazing refrence images apparently somebody already did a tutorial on this But it was in 3ds Studio max so i had to make a maya verzion of it. First i made the Legs after that i worked on the chest after that the Arms and then i took the .obj in to HyperShot Tested to see how it was looking like and it looked relly good i must say after that i made the head and added some stickers on him, i diddent want to rigg him because i really hate maya rigging because it takes sooooo long so what i did was the next best thing i grooped some body parts and just moved the im position and pozed him and it looked really good saved the .obj and exported it to hypershot again but this time i increased the settings to get a better render and let me tell you something DONT do it WHAT a was of time it the render took a DAY and it looked like a render that would take 10 mins but after it was all done i was happy with the render and called it Finished

The All Mighty Optimus Prime Tutorial, This maya tutorial is Crazy Well let me tell you about it a bit First i have a Friend that had done a Relly Relly good model of Optimus prime he showed it to me and i was relly impressed he had spend i think he said about 2 or 3 months on it and i was like you must be insane, i never spend that much time on a model. His Maya 3d model was relly relly good i must say it had all the detail that you could ever imagine on it here is his link http://stefanovicigor.com/ when you get ther you will think ohh these images must be from the Movie BUT THEY ARE NOT it’s crazy then he was telling me about how he was starting Bumble bee and how few of them were trying to make a Fan Film i don’t know how that’s going but anywho back to what i was saying i first tryed to convince him to do the tutorial because he had done the 3d model But Sadley nobody dous a maya tutorial for cgwhat i have asked i kid you not 10,000 people few have said yes but nobody douse anything it’s crazy so i decided to just do it my self i dont’ need anybody when i can do it my self so started the maya tutorial at first i though i was crazy because this model must have taken ILM Months to make and Must had many many people working it but i figured if Igor can do it I can do it started off good but then after video 3 the tutorial Turned ther was no way i could explain the whole process it was literally impossible i decided that the show must go on so the only way this Tutorial was going to get finished was If i used a Stand in so i did i provided people wiht a low poly maya model that we would be making in to a High poly and i think it worked out prity good we still got to do the whole model becaus most of the parts had to get rebuilt the only problem that came about is Video 9 i use app to recode the videos but somehow it had corrupted video 9 i diffident notice that till i got to like video 15 i figured people would just model what was needed but people relly want to see that video any ways back to the story the maya tutorial was getting relly relly long plus i had discovered a new app called HyperShot this app is amazing you import your .obj and presto you get a amazing Render it’s crazy and that is where we are at today with the optimums prime maya tutorial

Maya Tutorial T rex

Since i haven’t made a maya tutorial in while i decided to make a tutorial on something simple the and something that i wanted. I wanted to Make a T rex , i had done a T rex long long time ago but wanted to do a new one a cartooni T rex. usually when i model i like to look at inspiration that i see in Movies. the 2 T rex models that came in to my head were the Meet the Robinsons T Rex and the T rex in the new movie Ice Age 3. I dident know what T rex i wanted to model i knew i liked bought of them so i decided for his maya tutorial i would just combine then in to one, First i started whit the Reference image of the Dinosaur that i did long long time ago like i said then after i model the basic shape of the T rex i imported some Reference images form the 2 movies i knew i like the Body of the T rex meet the robinsons so i made the bodey small and big once that was done i decided that i liked the head of the T Rex of Ice Age so i started making it. finally the basic sahpes where finished all that was left was Maya Tweaking after i moved vertexes randomly and started to like the shape i used a Maya Lattice and wiht a Lattice i could Poze the T rex rather then having him in a T Stance because nobody likes a T rex in A t stance i just looks Dumb once i got a good Poze i imported some Lights and did a render and it looked great and that is when i decided to stop the maya tutorial this was just a practice tutorial since i haven’t modeled in a few days

welcome to the Maya Tutorial Blog where i will be posting Posts on what is going on at CgWhat the best place on the internet to learn 3d modeling and the reason i say the best place is because most of the tutor ails anybody can do.

1 You will NOT foll A sleep most of the tutorials that i watch i would watch for like 30 mins the stard to fall a sleep i meen it was almsot imposible to follow along

2 The maya tutorial that you get to see at cgwhat well i would say they are really entertaining i have watched few of the tutorials my self and i must say i am pretty funny i can’t bolive i think im funny

3 well cgwhat is the chepest place where you can get good video tutorials for $35 you can acess the whole website for a full year
